Goals in accordance with the Marrakesh treaty
Blinda mobile application grants eligible users access to audiobooks in accessible formats, with all three Marrakesh treaty goals in mind.
Blinda mobile application enables blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled individuals to borrow and listen to audiobooks.
Audiobooks are provided by authorized entities in compliance with the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled (»Marrakesh treaty«) and Directive (EU) 2017/1564 of 13 September 2017 (»Directive«) in each EU member state under the applicable conditions of use.
The Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled (MVT) is the latest addition to the body of international copyright treaties administered by WIPO.
It has a clear humanitarian and social development dimension and its main goal is to create a set of mandatory limitations and exceptions for the benefit of the blind, visually impaired and otherwise print disabled (VIPs).
